The ADSBee 1090U is an dual-band ADS-B receiver, receiving both 1090MHz Mode S and 978MHz UAT messages.

- Serial receiver: Transmit raw packet data or aircraft information over USB or UART, for use with devices such as drone autopilots, computers ingesting data with pyserial, etc.
- WiFi Access Point: Hosts its own WiFi network that you can join with a phone, tablet, or computer to receive GDL90 aircraft information on Port 4000 (works with Foreflight and Avare).
- WiFi Station: Joins an existing WiFi network to report raw packet information to online exchanges via the Mode S Beast protocol.
NOTE: This unit is in Beta. There will be bugs, but the firmware will be steadily improved, hopefully with the assistance of helpful issue reports from enthusiasts like you ;)

1090MHz 2.2dBi Sleeve Dipole Antenna This 1090MHz sleeve dipole antenna is custom made for Pants for Birds, and is suitable for outdoor installation. 1090MHz antennas connect to the 1090 port on an ADSBee 1090U, and are used to receive Mode S / ADS-B data.
978MHz Sleeve Dipole Antenna This portable antenna can be used for receiving UAT transmissions on 978MHz. It has an SMA male plug and can be mated with an SMA female jack. The elbow allows the antenna to be poised at a variety of angles; UAT transponders use vertically polarized antennas, so you’ll want this antenna to be aligned vertical to the ground for best reception. The coaxial sleeve dipole internal structure of this antenna creates a relatively omnidirectional gain pattern with a peak gain of 2.1dBi around the horizon, which is useful for receiving aircraft at a wide range of azimuths and elevations. This is a high quality antenna that has been custom designed and manufactured for Pants for Birds by a major US-owned antenna manufacturer that also manufactures millions of antennas for Apple and Google (among others).
